Saline-Sodium Citrate (SSC) Buffer is a widely used reagent in molecular biology and clinical diagnostics, offering a pH buffering range of 6.0 to 8.0. It is especially effective in nucleic acid hybridization techniques such as Southern and Northern blotting, as well as DNA microarrays. Additionally, SSC helps prevent agarose gel drying during vacuum transfer and can serve as a storage buffer. It is supplied as a 20X concentrate.
